I agree about Fruit, but FLP2? There's some fine material there, and a
b-sides collection is allowed to wander a bit if you ask me.

Also count me in as a fan of the Art Objects record -- perhaps Gerard
prefers the experimental bent of early Blue Aeroplanes, but his own vocals
for the AO's are anything but mundane, and for most of the tracks they're
the center of attention, as they should be...

I was recently reminded how much certain early-90's REM songs remind me of
the Aeroplanes, particularly "Country Feedback" and "E-Bow The Letter". As
Stipe appeared on Swagger in 1990 this seems like hardly a coincidence,
but I don't think I've ever heard of REM doing an Aeroplanes cover live,
unlike they did with so many of their influences (Wire, Pylon, Gang Of
Four, Mission Of Burma, etc.)
