The Flaming Lips were great. We saw them on the Soft Bulletin tour in
1999 at a small theater near our house. This year's show was pretty
much the same, just in the much larger Usher Hall. Alfie opened up and
were amazing!

A local Glasgow band Remedy opened up for The National. They were very
good - Kind of a Son Volt-ish. The National were awesome.

I'm going to play "Tolerance" now and pretend I am going to the show...

Anthony

Feel sorry for you there, Anthony, both on the gig and the beer!

How were Flaming Lips? I saw them in Bristol at the start of the year
and they were excellent. Did The National have The Playwrights
supporting them? Great Bristol band, the Playwrights.

I am SO jealous of all of you! My wife and I visit the UK every
November (we live in New York) and always try to catch a couple of
concerts while there (this year was The Flaming Lips in Edinburgh and
The National in Glasgow). Being a couple of weeks off from this Blue
Aeroplanes show really hurts (as does the sign in one pub that said that

they were putting Bateman's XXX out as their cask guest beer the week
after we left!). Maybe next year...
Have a great time at the show everyone!
Anthony

Oh you're all making me seethe here! ...*Spit* to hen nights and stupid
commitments and obligations to brides-to-be and not being in Bristol in
24 hours time... I feel sick!
Now, I'm probably setting myself up for a fall (which is exactly what my

stars said today by the way, but I love an odd stab at fate, me), but
regarding the rumours... they're not rumours! It's a fact! Straight from

the horses mouth so to speak...
Hands up, I'm coming clean, I can't stand all this twighlight tip-toeing

- Gerard's me mate (blonde drunk bird talking too loudly at the front at

poetry reading at the Folk House? Me!), he texted me on Sunday to ask if

I was coming and told me Angelo had just said yes. If this transpires
not to happen, then I'm gonna look like a reet twat (although, only in
writing, so I should be safe by the next Blue Aeroplanes gig!)... but
that's what the text said... Don't all hate me if he doesn't show up, I
like it here!
I'm such an Aeroplanes virgin, I didn't even know that Angelo playing
was a big thing! But now I'm beginning to see that it must be and I want

you all to be as happy as I know the crowd at Christmas can be so I
thought I'd better confirm myself (is that even grammatically correct?!)

and tell you who told me.
:o) So, take cameras and lots of money and have a fantastic time and
arrrrrggggggghhhhh I wish I was goinnnnng!!!
ARSE! ...and indeed, pants!
Love,
Lis

Hi all,
This is my first try at a mailing list thingy..........3 of us coming
down from Manchester/Wigan for hopefully a great night. Seen Langley and

the boys twice before and can't wait for this, nothing comes close to
the guys when they are on form. How strong are these rumours about
Angelo turning up, the more guitars the better!!
Anyway, anyone know of any good clubs for after show freak out?
See you all there, Woody
