Yes to Green on Red, especially "Scapegoats". 
Not to mention Grandaddy, The Shins and (now that he's living in the US -
I think) Lloyd Cole. Do you also know the recent album "Marshall's House"
by John Squires (ex-Stone Roses guitarist)? Great songs, although the voice
is a little ...er... rough.

Off-topic rant - Avihay, I'd say that as long as your government continues
to wall in people over whom it has no authority, having already stolen 
their
land and demolished their houses, no clear-thinking person would sully 
themselves
by going to Israel for a holiday.
