Hello Anthony - you could go to Berwick Street (off Oxford St.) for several good record shops, both new & second hand: e.g. Selectadisc, record & tape exchange, etc. If you carry on down Berwick St and go through the passage at the end you'll find Cheapo Cheapo records on the right - they have all kinds of interesting stuff. If you want classical you can't do better than Harold Moores records, also just behind Oxford St.

Hope this helps,
Andrew

All,

I don't mean to post a generic question of this sort, but I need all of your help... I live in the US and will be visiting England for the first time in
a couple of weeks (current international conditions permitting). I would
appreciate if you could forward me suggestions for records stores
(specifically vinyl) and clubs to visit while in town. If there are
websites of the stores or clubs I would appreciate those as well (asking too
much??). Anyone know of any good bands playing the first week in November?
I have a pretty flexible schedule. I will be arriving in London but am
willing to travel an hour or so in any direction if worthwhile.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Anthony

hello all, this is Mike here from "mmm...nice!". I promoted the gig last
night.....great to meet some of you there and I just wanted to say that I
thought Gerard was fantastic. I had heard stories of some patchy gigs lately
but I was determined to follow my instincts and invite him to do the
acoustic thing down at 12 Bar.

Well those who were there now know it was well worth the effort on everyones
part, a great gig played within a lovely friendly atmousphere, when your
doing small promotions (mostly for fun and certainly not for the money!!)
then its nights like last night that make it worthwhile....top stuff!!

so instead of signing off today I'm going to stick around on the list and
keep up with all things Langley, I'd love to see him again and I'd love to
book another night like that one sometime too!!

cheers

Mike G
PS, next wacky idea to come to fruition is on 21st November -Carl Puttnam
(from CUD), also talked into the small stage thing!! And I'm always up for
suggestions as to potential artists, so if you have a popstar lurking in
your attic then let me know!!
