Ok, just spent 2 nights seeing the Soft Boys.
and what can I say? They were great!
Friday night they played Maxwells in Hoboken, NJ -
very small room. It was just amazing - sounded very
tight - not too great at setlists but -
Starting out both nights with
You'll Have to go Sideways
then in no particularly correct order...
Kingdom of Love
Old Pervert
Only the Stones Remain
Airscape
I Wanna Destroy You
Mr. Kennedy
Underwater Moonlight
Leppo and the Jooves
Human Music
Insanely Jealous
Queen of Eyes
and more!

Kimberly Rew kept us very entertained with his
enthusiastic playing...wonderful facial expressions!
Where do I get one for a pet?
I was able to chat to him after the show and get him
to sign my copy of his cd.

Last night was a much larger crowd at Irving Plaza in
NYC. Setlist mixed up a bit but still excellent.
Opening band Young Fresh Fellows did a good job - they
even did "Leave it to the Soft Boys"

Despite the smaller intimate venue on Friday, I think
I preferred the show last night - not withstanding the
fact that Marty Willson Piper of the Church spent some
time hanging out with us last night! (looking fit and
fine in a wonderful Big Star #1 Record t-shirt)

Anyone who isn't already sold on going to see the Soft
Boys should reconsider...they were simply great.
Seligman looking absolutely THRILLED to be there with
them again, Morris looking good in shades, Robyn much
grayer than last time I saw him but in good form
(always sporting entertaining clothes) and (please no
comments on Katrina and the Waves) Mr. Rew.
