Thanks for clearing that up Lisa.

Lets hope for something for next year!

Anything else happening on December 2nd? I know Anthony and the Johnsons are playing the Academy, but to me that has the whiff of the emperor's new clothes about it, and its sold out anyway. Will those who have booked places still come if only to experience our fair city? Perhaps we could arrange something. Perhaps Lisa could invite Gerard? However I think he might be too scared to come (I'd have reservations if I were in his position!)

Alrighty then, here's the scoop...

The Fiddlers gig IS cancelled. Gerard says it was never actually confirmed, just pencilled in coz of the Christmas habit of playing there. Fiddlers just assumed they'd be playing apparently and I do remember him saying to me (and thus me to you, to me, to you...) that he tentatively said in October "book me Danno" but at the time told them that it was dependant on lots of other things (The EMI deal, the Swagger re-release, the Borderline gig, getting a line-up...!). So, they've just recently called G to confirm properly, asked him if he was still 'on for it' and he said no.

And here's why...

There's the Borderline gig coming up in January, which will then be followed by a tour (!!!) in March to promote the new Swagger thingy. He didn't say, but I doubt whether this tour will just be limited to England - that would be slightly daft, since if that was the case they may as well just play the Fiddlers after all and be done with it. All the UK/European fans go there anyway, don't they!

So, I think, my lovelies, that you can maybe expect a USA/Europe/Wider than Bristol mini-tour type of affair. I don't know the ins and outs of it yet. Am meeting him for a beer on Thursday so will find out more for you... keep yer knickers on!

And with that, I must charge my mobile and get credit. I just got told off for now replying to a call from Gerard last week and he sounded like my dad! "You can't be ignoring my calls if this website takes off. I need you to answer the phone if you're gonna be at the front of it when this EMI stuff happens..."... etc, etc... Oooops then! I suppose hes got a point... but I WAS BUSSSSYYYY!

Duely chastised, I shall take my leave.

Let me know if you want any other info about stuff thats happening and I'll ask him on Thursday...

Hoorah!
Lis
