i've never been able to decide with rodney whether he is faux-naif or just... well.. naive. In isolation sometimes they are the perfect palate cleanser to gerard's stuff - i've very very soft spots for worry beads & disney head.

but a whole albums worth of wide-eyed simplicity? Does being knowingly simple make you very post modern or just toss? Frightened at night was played at xmas and i still couldn't work out whether it was meant seriously or not - anyone with me?

Phil you're a brave man. Streatham these days by the way - so I'll be round your house with £1.50 for it.

As I remember it a goodly portion of the lyrics were nicked from an old Paul
Weller poetry book
