Fly Postering

Just been watching Newsnight (again). It seems that Camden Council are
getting tough on the Music Industry for this practice (again).
OK if it's Sony etc, but I remember that after at last getting heartuly
sick of the pseudo intOllectual tossers that were the Popular Music Press
(NME etc) at the time and voting with my feet I no longer had my regular
fix
of who's doing what where when. so a particular spot at the south end of
Camden High Street was useful bacause that's where I saw the Fly for the
BA's and the LA's and..............
I remember they got tough then, and this is now twelve or thirteen years
ago, and replaced it with vast clattering advo's advocating R*mmel Lip
Gloss
and other important stuff.
Not defending illegal activity you understand, just reminicsing !

  > Rodney made one solo album, Happy Sad. I put a bid in for a copy that
turned up on Ebay recently, but it went up well over £15, so I dipped out.
As far as I know its never had a CD re-issue.

  > The only time I ever saw the Blue Aeroplanes in concert was at Navy
Pier
in Chicago in 1990. Was anybody else there? They opened up for The Church.
Both bands were excellent, but the Aeroplanes' 3 guitar assault, the
interpretive dancing, and Gerard's manic talk-shout-singing were what
really
stood out for me. After I bought a couple of their albums, I found that I
especially enjoyed the songs penned by "Allen." Is is Rodney Allen? I
don't remember his first name. Does anyone know if he has any solo stuff
available?
