The Band of Holy Joy played in our local arts' centre too, a disused chapel in the middle of nowhere. Gloucestershire. I bought their album.

Haven't played it in years.

The Band Of Holy Joy also appeared on "Snub TV." Maybe you could look for

all know

The Blue Aeroplanes did appear on Snub TV early 1990.
There was an interview with Gerard and they also
played clips of the Swagger line-up playing '...and
Stones' and 'Breaking In My Heart'. Got a very worn
copy of it somewhere.

I can't remember for sure, but I vaguely recall
seeing them on TV shortly
after the release of "Swagger", and I seem to
remember that programme was
running at the time.

The House Of Love are a favourite of mine too. I
didn't get a chance to see
them at any of their low-key gigs last year, but
hopefully there will be
more...

Wow! the Areoplanes with the House of Love...my
dream ticket ! By the way
Guy Chadwick and Terry Bickers are apparently in
process of reforming
HoL..... It needs to be BBC TV appearences for me to
be able to get my hands
on them though!

The Aeroplanes appeared on Radio 1's "In Concert"
at least twice. I'm sure
I have a couple of tapes at my parents' house (sorry
I won't be able to
check for a few days)

Anyway, from memory :
One show was shared with Ride (from 1990??,
although perhaps this might be
the Glastonbury 1992 set?) The other was shared with
The House Of Love (from
1991 I think)

I'll retrieve them the next time I visit!

Jonathan

PS I (also) find "Fruit" very disappointing.
Their live gigs are so much
better than this!

They definately did a R1 concert - half an hour
on a Saturday night it
was. I've got a ropey tape copy at home - I'll
dig it out and see if
it's dated. It was a fine concert too - much
better than Fruit.

Jof

PS - I love FLP2, even the version of ...And
Stones!

won't search without a
rough date

Just to keep the debate going, I vote NO to
'Fruit' but YES to
'FLP2'.
It's
chock-full of great tunes, and the odd duff
one, which is a pretty
good ratio in my book. Richard - council
for the prosecution?

This probably won't be the first time I have
been accused of being a
weird shit, but I rate FLP2 extremely highly.
If it were cut down to
a standard length album (so, we can happily
lose the truly
piss-awful "...and stones" remix, and perhaps
one or two, but by no
means all, of
Rodney's offerings,
etc) it would be universally highly acclaimed.
It's always loomed
large
in my attempts to produce a definitive BA
compilation MD, that's for
sure. Fruit is indeed crap, though. For live
stuff , I remember
fondly
the two live shows that they did for BBC R1 -
one was around the time
of
Swagger, the other was following the release
of Beatsongs. Is there
anyone out there who has any copies of them?
