Being a major fan, here's something I feel qualified to write a few lines
about. BH was indeed in the Bible (brilliant posthumous album 'Dodo'
released
on Haven a couple of years ago) but has been a solo artist since they
broke up -
almost definitiveley (bar an attempted reformation in 1994)- in the early
90s.
He has since released 3 solo albums, an excellent collaboration with
Darden
Smith, toured with the likes of Clive Gregson, Colin Reid and Eddi Reader,
for
whom he has (co)-written most of her songs for several years. He is
currently
on tour with her in the UK. He has also just put out an EP, 'Extras' of 4
new
songs, a taster for his new album, that are amongst the most
intense/intimate
stuff he has ever done. I saw him play solo about three weeks ago in
Surrey and
it was the best I have seen him for about 10 years. Good to know that
things
don't inevitably go downhill once you reach 40! Not necessarily the most
obvious choice for Blue Aeroplanes fans (although he features somewhere
on 'Swagger' and I think he did some stuff with them around that time that
has
been lost), but highly recommended nevertheless. The official website is
at
www.boohewerdine.net, where you can find some representative MP3's.

I have gushed enough,
Phil (the one in
Madrid)
