Interesting.  It wasn't my intention to start a UK/US or good band/crap
band
discussion.  Remember, so much of what we get presented in thr UK as
American
music is a stereotype.  I was surprised to know that anyone in the States
would know of the Blue Aeroplanes; their American equivalent must be known
by
very few people over here.  It's hard enough keeping up with what's going
on
in your own continent musically without having to work on another.  Very
easy
to rely on radio for your source and then you're bound to end up with a
prejudiced view.

Always grateful that America invented pop.
