Re: Re-mission

I still miss The Studio.... a great venue (with a balcony that undulated
worryingly when packed out with a dancing throng), and a dodgy night club
with super-violent bouncers to boot. The backroom was the first "indie"
club
I went to ("The Whip") - funnily enough this was also always packed with
Bristol`s goth community....
Did anyone ever go to it when they tried to reinvent it as an even dodgier
cabaret-style lounge thing ("The Rainbow Club")? They continued to book
rock
bands, but alternated them with easy-listening stuff and non-alternative
(ie, deeply offensive) comedians. In keeping with this new image they put
down nice new carpets - I visited the club a couple of days after The
Ramones played there - little remained of the misguided rugs but cig-burns
and beer stains.
It closed down again shortly after that.....

I still think that "Wayne Hussey" is the best name in music ever - you
just
couldn`t invent a name like that....

Yours, falling into a black pit of nostalgia,
                                                    Phill..........
